Elena joined The Health Policy Partnership in June 2022 as a Researcher and works primarily in lung cancer screening.
Before joining HPP, Elena worked in academic publishing. She was a Commissioning Editor at Future Science Group until 2016, where she managed a portfolio of peer-reviewed biomedical journals, predominantly focusing on regenerative medicine.
In her role as Senior Managing Editor at SAGE Publishing London, she managed the development and strategy of research journals ranging from drug safety to cardiology and breast cancer. She led a patient engagement project focusing on accessibility and the implementation of plain language summaries in academic research outputs. Elena also has expertise in publishing and research ethics, and was a member of the publisher’s research integrity group.
Elena has a BSc in Biology and an MRes in Regenerative Medicine from the University of Bath, and recently completed a PGDip in Global Health at King’s College London. She is fluent in English, Italian, French and German.
