Karolay Lorenty

Senior Researcher

‘I am excited to be part of an organisation committed to transforming evidence into actionable policy recommendations that can truly impact healthcare systems across the world.’

Karolay joined The Health Policy Partnership in April 2021 and was promoted to the role of Senior Researcher in July 2023. She is currently working in the Heart Failure Policy Network team.

Before joining HPP, Karolay worked for Genetic Alliance UK as a Policy Assistant. Her main project was the development of toolkits for families and healthcare professionals involved in the care of people with genetic, rare and undiagnosed conditions. Prior to this, she had interned at the same organisation, working on campaigns to engage policymakers and raise awareness of rare diseases. She has also volunteered for multiple NGOs, such as the Children’s Food Campaign, where she investigated policy levers to reduce childhood obesity and developed case studies on food poverty.

Karolay holds a MSci in Neuroscience from UCL with a dissertation on gene therapy for epilepsy. During her studies, she was the managing editor of a student life sciences magazine.

She is fluent in Spanish and English.
