Labour and human rights position statement
The Health Policy Partnership (HPP) is committed to upholding the highest standards of labour and human rights across our operations and partnerships. We strive to create a safe, respectful and fair workplace and expect the same standards from those we work with. This statement summarises the principles set out in HPP’s Labour & Human Rights Policy.
We operate within the UK Human Rights Act, the Equality Act 2010, the Employment Rights Act and the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act, and comply with all applicable local laws wherever we work.
Our commitments in practice include the following:
- Zero tolerance for child labour, forced labour and human trafficking.
- A safe, healthy and respectful workplace, with measures in place to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of all colleagues.
- Non‑discrimination and dignity at work: we do not tolerate harassment or abuse and promote a culture of respect and inclusion.
- Fair working hours, pay and leave, including reasonable adjustments and family‑related leave, in line with applicable law and HPP policies.
- Freedom of association and collective dialogue: we respect the lawful right of workers to organise, join associations and engage in worker representation.
- Responsible partners and suppliers: we require suppliers and partners to uphold these standards and we give preference, where feasible, to organisations that demonstrate fair labour practices.
- Speak‑up and remedy: concerns can be raised without fear of retaliation and are investigated promptly; we take appropriate action where issues are identified.
