Ismail joined The Health Policy Partnership in August 2023 as a Researcher. He currently works on projects in rare diseases and health inequalities.

He is a passionate advocate for global and public health, sustainability and development, with a keen interest in social inequalities, health research and epidemiology. Before joining HPP, Ismail worked as a Research Assistant at London Metropolitan University studying food poverty, food insecurity and health inequalities in the UK. He has also completed a consultancy project for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency as part of his Master’s at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE); as a postgraduate consultant, he was part of a team that explored the impact of COVID-19 on diabetes management among Palestinian refugees in the West Bank territories.

Ismail holds a BSc in Human Nutrition from London Metropolitan University and an MSc in Health and International Development from LSE. He is an Associated Nutritionist (part of the UK Voluntary Register of Nutritionists, held by the Association for Nutrition).

Ismail was born and lived in Italy for 21 years, and is fluent in Italian, Arabic, French and English.
