All.Can – new cancer policy initiative launched at ECCO Congress

Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 29 January 2017: European CanCer Organisation (ECCO) Congress

The Health Policy Partnership will work closely with leading stakeholders across Europe as part of a focal new policy initiative in cancer care; All.Can. The group has been set up to engage decision makers and improve policy responses to address one of the most pressing issues for healthcare systems in the 21st century, that of improving efficiency in cancer care – namely by focusing on what matters most to patients.

Representing the Secretariat, Dr.  Suzanne Wait from HPP moderated the launch symposium at the ECCO Congress in Amsterdam. Speakers at the event featured Dr Matti Aapro, from Clinique de Genolier, Switzerland; Kathy Oliver from the International Brain Tumour Alliance; Dr Jason Arora, representing ICHOM; Emmanuel Blin, from Bristol-Myers Squibb and Herb Riband from Amgen.

The symposium was also an opportunity to launch the first All.Can policy report, ‘Towards sustainable cancer care: reducing inefficiencies, improving outcomes’ which has been developed jointly with all 16 All.Can members,  who represent patient organisations, policymakers, healthcare professionals, research and industry.
