HPP and the Lung Ambition Alliance establish an international network to improve survival from lung cancer

22 June 2022

Launched today, the Lung Cancer Policy Network is a global alliance of world-renowned experts in lung cancer and cancer screening, united by a common goal of making lung cancer a policy priority worldwide.

The Network has almost 50 members, including clinicians, researchers, patient organisations and industry experts. All members will share their knowledge and expertise, and contribute to building an evidence base to engage policymakers.

The initial focus of the Network is to promote the adoption of screening to increase early detection and diagnosis of lung cancer. There is strong evidence that implementing targeted screening programmes can transform lung cancer from a fatal to a treatable disease, and dramatically improve quality of life for people with lung cancer.

The brand new website for the Network is now live and we will soon publish its inaugural report, followed by the launch of an interactive map tracking the progress of lung cancer screening worldwide. Make sure to follow the Network on Twitter for updates: @LungPolicy.
